No one really warns you that after that magical minute and a half where you and your partner decide to make a lifelong, legally-binding, love-based commitment, a whole mess of other people get involved. And they can really put a damper on things.

thanks ladies for the first two comments. You will be amazed how much energy a big or small wedding takes up. still have at least two peoples feelings to manage, but usually more, even if there are only 10 people in attendance. Good luck to you both

I think I want a small wedding as well. A big wedding would be a headache. I would hate something could go wrong. I would love to get married in a couple of years.

The wedding of my dreams was my wife, myself and a photographer… it took me a day to arrange and had everything in it that I wanted….namely the wonderful woman I wanted, and had waited 20 years after most of my friends had succumbed to peer pressure, to marry. Most importantly it contained no distractions, no relatives, no schedule, no band, no bar closing…. just me and a beautiful woman hanging out in New York, enjoying ourselves (and a photographer to capture the moments).

The best advice I can give is your wedding day is about the bride and groom…. do what you want and ignore everyone else.
